Ancient Building Architecture
It’s just a small
discussion about modern buildings & the ancient architecture….How did the
ancient civilization still exist after hundred & thousands of years…There
was less technology still the monuments are so live what they did to build the
Temples, Palaces, the Pyramids etc.
What were their architectural
secrets that we are not thinking of today….."In an era where we design
buildings to last 20- 70 years, But how those buildings are standing till
eternity.
From America to Europe, climate
change, cyclones, floods descending the cities. Why cannot we build sustainable
cities against these natural calamities….
A thoughtful…
architectural solution that connect cities back to nature.
Most famous natural stones used in construction industry are granite, marble, sandstone, porphyry, basalt, clay slate and limestone. These materials differ greatly in terms of their technical characteristics such as water absorption, compression strength, heat storage capacity or frost resistance. It is very difficult to understand the quality of a stone by its look, an affordable and a high quality variant have the same look but have completely different characteristics. Hard rocks such as granite or basalt are more suitable for the facades, Softer materials such as porphyry or marble are more suitable for interiors.
Building with stones:
For eras architects have been
using this building material to design & build the facades & interior.
Furthermore, building with natural stone, is mostly sustainable. Ancient
buildings are the examples.
Stones are very natural, compact,
solid and massive material that make the skin of the world. Natural stone has a

- Availability of stone in nearby area
- Extraction
- Transportation
- Dressing before putting them in use
Sometimes a required quantity of
stone may not be available locally. It may have to be imported from other cities from the country or other countries.
